John Donnelly is an experienced professional with over 30 years of international work experience in Asia and Europe. Most recently John joined Inflection Point Intelligence Ltd (IPI) as a director and advisor. IPI is a leading provider of online financial education to the asset management industry.

Prior to IPI John occupied a number of senior roles in the information publishing business. In 1991, he began an 11-year career at Thomson Financial (now Reuters/Refinitiv), joining as sales and marketing manager for Thomson’s print products in Asia. Over time John rose to the role of Regional Managing Director of Asia Pacific for Thomson. In his role, John was responsible for the operations of Thomson’s financial information businesses in the Asia Pacific region, including data and analytics, software, and workflow solutions. In addition,, John was responsible for setting up and managing Thomson’s production and support facility in Manila.

In 2004 John joined 2 former Thomson colleagues as a partner/owner at BLI Ltd, a US-based publishing company covering the imaging equipment and software markets. John subsequently set up BLI’s operations in the UK and Hong Kong. In his role as BLI’s International MD, he was responsible for commercial, editorial, and laboratory activities in EMEA and Asia. After successfully expanding the business John and his partners sold BLI to SFW Capital Partners in 2013.

Following the sale of BLI, John joined the WPLT (World Pro Leisure Tour). While on the WPLT he spent time traveling and catching up with family, friends, and life in general. During this time, he set up his own company, Behmer Asia Ltd. Behmer Asia acts as an advisory and investment firm primarily for businesses in the information publishing industry. One of his investments is LCGH, an HK-based publishing company best known for producing LUXE City Guides. John started as a director and advisor to the business and was later appointed as Chairman. He has also been involved in many projects, including in the aviation finance sector, marketing data, and craft beverage industries.

In his free time, John enjoys traveling, scuba diving, fishing, and hiking. John is from Philadelphia, where he attended the University of Pennsylvania. He has lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years and in Tokyo and London.
