NY- Upstate House and MetroHouse Magazines – SOLD
The acquisition of 40,000 circulation monthly real estate magazines Upstate House and MetroHouse by Schein Media, a new media company headed by Jonathan A. Schein, was announced today. John Szefc of Grimes, McGovern & Associates represented the seller, Luminary Publishing, which also publishes the Chronogram, a popular glossy arts and entertainment monthly. Most recently Schein was president and CEO of Real Estate Media Inc., the dominant industry publishing entity, boasting four commercial real estate magazines and GlobeSt.com and GlobeSt.RETAIL.COM: the only true daily sources of national and local industry news online. In 2005 Real Estate Media was merged into ALM which is owned by U.S. Equity Partners, an equity fund managed by New York based Wasserstein & Company.
