Debbie Allen is an award-winning agency leader, creative officer, and publisher whose work in the travel and cruise industries has garnered much attention earning her Travel Weekly’s Magellan Best in Marketing and Best in Travel Industry gold awards.
Widely recognized in her field and by her colleagues as one of the top direct marketing leaders in the business, Debbie has a wide range of experience across multiple industries. She has led multi-disciplinary departments of up to 800 people and held responsibility for large agency accounts such as Honda, Verizon, Stanley Black and Decker, and The National WWII Museum driving revenue and EBIDTA growth.
Ms. Allen began her career as an aspiring creative at Y&R’s Direct Marketing agency, Wunderman Worldwide in New York City and worked her way up to the executive suite at Bertelsmann Music Group as a Senior Vice President. At Bertelsmann she ran marketing operations for premier brands such as: BMG Music, Columbia House, Doubleday, and Book of the Month club and led multiple mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations under the the PE firm Najafi Companies, reducing costs by $20 million. After 18 years at Bertelsmann, she took the helm at Minacs Marketing Solutions, a $70 million dollar PE-backed Direct Marketing agency in Detroit, increasing revenues by 30% for iconic automotive brands including Honda, Mazda, and Chrysler. In 2010, she then made her move into the travel industry as the Chief Marketing Officer at Vantage Travel in Boston growing revenues by $7 million in just 9 months before starting her own agency, Clip Media Group, LLC in New York in 2012.
In 2020, Debbie launched the hugely successful AFLOAT USA magazine in the Hamptons and acted as the Editor-in-Chief, Chief Content Officer, Designer, and Publisher. This luxury lifestyle magazine celebrates everything on and around the water and is focused on supporting local area businesses with plans to expand into other high-net worth coastal communities in the next year.
Debbie currently is responsible for managing client relationships for multiple accounts, creative and profitability for the agency. Most recently, the agency’s client roster has expanded outside of travel to include the private equity firm, The Acacia Group and the rapidly growing technology firm Applied Insights.
Debbie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin and attended Harvard University’s Executive Education program. She currently serves as Treasurer on the board of Project MOST, an after-school enrichment program in the Hamptons and has helped to raise money for educational opportunities for low-income working families. She is an avid boater and accomplished oboe player and in her spare time enjoys traveling, running, and supporting the family rock band.
