Long Island weekly sold
South Bay¹s Shopping Newspaper, a weekly newspaper institution in Lindenhurst and surrounding southshore communities bordering the Nassau and Suffolk County border for over 50 years, has been sold to Long Island Media Group, according to Richard Freedman, president of the family company. The buyers include Jeffrey Lambert, former senior vice president and general manager of Star Community Publishing, recently DSA Community Publishing, the alternative distribution and community publishing subsidiary of Newsday. Joining Lambert as the new owners of South Bays are Stan Henry and Thomas W. Rohr, formerly principals of This Week Pennysaver which was sold to Newsday in 1997 and is a weekly publication that continues to be part of Newsday¹s total market coverage of Long Island.
