Leading Boston-Based Conference Company and Publisher Expands Portfolio Internet of Things (IoT)
Cambridge Innovation Institute (CII) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Boston operations of London based Vinelake Ltd. which includes four annual Internet of Business (IoB) events in the U.S., consisting of IoTBuild, Internet of Insurance and two on Internet of Manufacturing.
Phillips Kuhl, President, Cambridge Innovation Institute, says, “We are delighted to be able to add the Internet of Business’ very successful and vertically focused events to CII’s expanding portfolio. We expect there to be particularly good synergy with our recent entry into coverage of developments in artificial intelligence with the acquisition last year of AI World. The addition of Internet of Business U.S. will support CII’s move to cover important developments across a series of strategic applications for digital and smarter transformation of more and more industries. I look forward to bringing together CII’s deep experience with conferences to new industry segments, while also learning from Internet of Business U.S. more about their hosted buyer business model. All of us at CII are excited about this new venture and look forward to welcoming the IoB team.”
“We are really positive that Vinelake’s U.S. events have been acquired by Cambridge Innovation Institute. In two brief years we have managed to grow a series of quality technology conferences in the exciting and dynamic IoT and Data sector. We firmly believe that now with the backing of CII these events will continue to grow and achieve their full potential to become significant meetings for the vertical markets they serve.” Mark Steel, Chairman, Internet of Business.
“Internet of Business was born from a drive to deliver quality content and networking opportunities, to forward the advancement of various US industries through technology adoption. The Internet of Business events are designed to help each market sector understand how IoT, AI, Data and Edge Computing are affecting their industry and their jobs today and tomorrow. Led by end user case studies presenting real-life insights into the practical application of technology by business and technology leaders, our IoT events arm the attendee with invaluable knowledge to transform their business. We are therefore extremely pleased to now be part of Cambridge Innovation Institute, a leader in the events, training and publishing worlds, recognized for delivering high-level content and building event communities. Our Boston team is excited to explore the synergy between Internet of Business’ events and CII’s AI, health, life science and rechargeable battery portfolios.” Lucy Ashton, Managing Director, Internet of Business USA.
The Boston office of Internet of Business (IoB) USA will remain open, and the employees within that location have been retained.
During the acquisition, Cambridge Innovation Institute was represented in the transaction by John McGovern of Grimes, McGovern & Associates of New York.
