Canyon News Changing Hands The Canyon News, which has several ties to Plainview, has been sold to Palo Duro Publishing. Brad Tooley will end 22 years as publisher of the newspaper and Jim Moser of Victoria, who comes from a newspaper family and publishes two South Texas weekly newspapers, will take over as owner and publisher. Moser, 35, worked in the advertising department of the Austin American-Statesman before working for three newspapers groups — Boone Newspapers (in Waxahachie), Granite Newspapers (in Taylor, as advertising director) and Hartman Newspapers (in Rosenberg for five years and for five years as publisher in McKinney). His father, Charles, has published the Brenham Banner-Press for the past 36 years
