Anfinsons purchase Grant County Herald in Elbow Lake (MN)
For just the 12th time in the 136-year history of the Grant County Herald (Elbow Lake, Minnesota) new owners are talking the helm. Reed and Shelly Anfinson purchased the weekly newspaper from Anne O’Flynn, effective July 30, 2014. O’Flynn will remain on staff as the General Manager of the Herald.
Julie Bergman of WB Grimes and Company represented O’Flynn and Lakeview Publications, Inc. in the sale.
The Anfinsons also own the Swift County Monitor News in nearby Benson, Minnesota, and are stockholders in Quinco, a regional printing cooperative. Reed Anfinson is a past president of both the National Newspaper Association and the Minnesota Newspaper Association and is currently secretary of the National Newspaper Foundation.
The Grant County Herald is a 2,000 circulation weekly newspaper that serves as the official newspaper for Grant County and other cities, townships and the school district. The newspaper is a part of the Classy Canary, a regional cooperative tabloid shopper inserted in thirteen regional newspapers.
